The Mill Needs You!

For 38 years The Mill has produced at least 2 charity shows a year and given countless tickets away to Rotary clubs, School fetes, Christmas raffles and many more local charities. We have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for these worthy causes. Now The Mill finds itself in the position of having to ask for support for its own survival.

So many of you who have booked for the future have put your tickets on credit. This is an enormous help and I thank you profusely.

I have been inundated with emails, messages, letters from all of you lovely people. And of course with some amazing donations. The support out there is overwhelming. I really can’t thank you enough.

In their usual generous manner artists, who have performed or directed at The Mill, have sent video messages of support. As a reminder of pre-Covid days Philip Bertioli, our leading man from SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, sent a message along with a film of his wonderful dance on a very wet Mill stage. That show last Christmas was such a magical time and I want The Mill to get back to what we had. With the support of our lovely actors and with your generosity we can do that.

Take a look at some more of these messages below, including Debbie McGee‘s story about an eventful evening that she and Paul Daniels spent at the Mill, a Noel Coward song from Ben Stock, beautiful messages of support from Brian Blessed, Jeremy Irons, Sinead Cusack, Peter Egan, Simon Williams, Finty Williams, Ray Cooney & Mark Curry.

Plus a fascinating Podcast that will keep you brilliantly entertained – A LIFE LIVED. From Muhammad Ali and Sir Roger Moore to David Bowie and Aretha Franklin, we hear how the lives of the biggest stars were truly lived. With exclusive interviews from the people who knew them in life.  Stephanie Okupniak tells the stories of these departed icons. Stephanie is not only a consummate journalist and Sky News Producer, but she also happens to be my daughter-in-law. I asked her if I could share this compelling series with you.

And of course there is always something for the children. Our beautiful story teller – Amber Edlin – has recorded ZOG and The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson for your little ones.

If you have enjoyed these videos then I would be so grateful if you would make a donation.

It does seem strange asking for donations for the Mill when we are usually putting on shows for other charities. Next year I will be doing lots of galas to raise funds for The Mill, but I will give a percentage of that money raised to a local charity – for a cause that has been badly affected by this wretched virus. You might like to suggest a few that would benefit.

As always and most importantly, stay safe.
